90's inspired outfit

This was my outfit from Thursday night, I went out with my flatmates. It was rock night at Passion, which is the best night!

Bralet - Topshop sale - £3
High waisted shorts - diy - £1
Converse - Office

FLORAL BRALET
This is so cute! I got it in the topshop sale (it's from the petite section) and it was only £3! I really love the strap details too, which you can see better in the photo when I'm wearing it.

90's STYLE SHORTS
I made these shorts out of a pair of cheapy jeans. They were George@Asda ones that I got from a charity shop for £1. I cut them off to about the knees, then rolled them up and put in a few stitches at the sides to hold them in place. I wanted them to be the baggy style and then really cinched in at the waist.

1994 - outfit post

Hi, today I was in uni for one hour which was totally pointless. I also went to a recruitment day, which had already finished when I arrived even though it was meant to be on for another 4 hours :(
But I'm wearing my favourite t-shirt so I'm a bit happier
Harrington- belongs to Tom
T-shirt - Amazon
Glittery leggings - Primark
Moon & stars slippers - eBay

BIRTHDAY YEAR T-SHIRT
This is my favourite t-shirt! My mum bought me it for my 18th birthday, and it has the year I was born on it. Navy blue is my favourite t-shirt colour too and it's perfectly sized.

I've got the same leggings and shoes on as yesterday, you can read about them here.

Tom gave me this black harrington because it was too small for him and he has a new one now. It's no particular brand, but I know you can get ones just like this for fairly cheap on eBay.

I almost forgot about these shoes!

Today is my day off uni, and I'm spending it chilling with Tom.
I went to Wilkinsons and they had all their halloween stuff out! There was some proper cute little things, but I just bought some snacks for me and Tom to have today. They had their Christmas chocolate out too so I bought a big gift sized tube of pink smarties >.<
This is me today...
School Jumper - thrifted - about 70p
Glittery leggings - Primark - £7
Moon &Stars slippers - eBay- about £4

GLITTER LEGGINGS
These are definitely my favourite leggings at the moment, they're really good quality like they don't go saggy. And they're glittery! I've had them since last winter and they're still fine which is good seeing as they're only from Primark.

MOON & STARS SLIPPERS
Last year everywhere was selling those slipper/loafer shaped shoes, especially Topshop. I really wanted a velvet pair but all the ones on the hightstreet were too expensive for me. I tried looking on eBay instead and I ended up finding these. These are not slipper style shoes, they are actual slippers! haha :) They are like those old lady style ones you get that are velvet and really solidly built so they don't trip or fall. Because they have a solid sole (rather than foam) I can wear them out of doors, so I decided to just get them anyway and wear them as real shoes! :) I also bought a burgundy pair because they were so cheap and I thought I might as well stock up while they were available.

WELSH SCHOOL JUMPER
I got this in an indoor market when I was in Wales this summer. I had wanted a school jumper for a while, with the embroidered crest and everything. I really like burgundy colour too. After I bought it, it turned out that this was the old school jumper of my friend who I stay with in Wales.

GOLD FEATHER HAIR CLIPS
Accessorize - £2 for pack of two

Floral playsuit - outfit post

Today I've been in uni, printed about a million pages off and bought some fruit and veg. The riveting life that is me. Today I'm wearing 2 new things because I get over excited when I have new clothes and want to wear them all straight away.
Cardigan - thrifted - £2.99
Playsuit - vintage fair
Knitted leggings - Primark - approx £2
Converse - Office

ZIP-UP CARDIGAN
I got this Grandad style cardigan at the Salvation Army shop last week, I liked it because it had a zip rather than buttons and it didn't look too thick. I already have lots of chunky knit cardigans. It has nice deep pockets too which are perfect for dropping your phone into!

FLORAL PLAYSUIT
I got this at the vintage fair on Friday. It's not actually a vintage piece because the tag says 'Victoria's Secret'. I think it might be meant for pyjamas but I just thought it was cute. I know Summer is over so I shouldn't be buying things like this, but I styled it with knitted leggings and an oversized cardigan and I think it looks okay.

BLUE CONVERSE
I've had these for a couple of years now, they're really handy and go with anything. They're the second pair of converse I've had and I always get them in blue rather than black. I just love navy blue!

FULL OUTFIT

I've also put some new things on my etsy store this evening, I'd really appreciate it if you could have a look:

Perfect Princess - outfit post

I've spent pretty much all of today at Tom's house, watching criminal minds. I love that programme so much! Reid is my favourite, does anyone else watch it? :)
I'm just wearing a comfy outfit today because I wasn't going out or doing anything particularly fancy

Princess t-shirt - thrifted - £1
Jeggings - eBay - approx £3
Sports socks - thrifted - 50p
Jelly sandals - Juju Jellies

I got this Disney Princesses t-shirt at  charity shop the other day for only £1
It has glitter all over the picture and the writing says 'Perfect Princess'. It also says 'Florida' at the bottom so I think it must have come from Disney Land. I'm really happy that I found such a bargain!

I'm wearing my jeggings again, I think pink and light denim look so cute together!
This is the first time I've worn these socks and they're so white, I don't want to ruin them. I got them at an indoor market this summer, but they hadn't been worn before. They were only 50p.
As always I'm wearing my jelly sandals.

I LOVE DISNEY

Vintage Fair

Hi, yesterday my uni held a vintage fair as part of freshers week.It was £1 to get in, but the prices of the clothes were really good. Nothing had an individual price, you just paid £15 per kilo of clothes.
The fair was held in our student union which has a big dance floor area and when I went in I was just like 'eeeeee!' because the whole place was full of rails of clothes, like sooo much!
I was worried there wouldn't be much left because it was on 12-5pm but I only finished uni at 4 yesterday so I only went for the last hour. However it didn't matter because they'd obvi brought so much stock with them.

These pictures aren't really perfect, that's because as soon as I got home from the fair I pretty much dumped my stuff, changed my bags over and went back out to get the bus to Tom's. Before I left though I took a picture of what I bought so I could show him. So that's why the quality of pictures isn't great, and I only have one picture of each item.
Also, I'm going to be putting some of this stuff onto my esty store so keep an eye out!

PUMPKIN WAISTCOAT

KNITTED CHRISTMAS WAISTCOAT #1

BRIGHT ORANGE JUMPER

TAPESTRY BOOKS WAISTCOAT

KNITTED CHRISTMAS WAISTCOAT #2

PATTERNED WAISTCOAT

FLORAL PLAYSUIT

BEIGE PLAYSUIT
I am going to dye this black and wear it over tops like a pair of dungarees

GLASTONBURY STYLE JUMPER/DRESS

CHRISTMAS WAISTCOAT

CHRISTMAS IMAGE CARDIGAN

Altogether this came to £37.50 which I know sounds like a lot, but for how many things I got I think it's a really good price. In the vintage shops I usually go to in Newcastle the knitted stuff would probably be about £10 each. I bought 5 knitted items, so that would already be £50 which is more than I spent. And I got other things on top of that.

My bag was so full, the woman had to really stuff everything in there and then she had to cable tie the handles to keep it together. When I was walking home I had to carry it in two arms like a big vintage baby!

Let me know what you think if what I got please :)

Chunky t-shirt

Hi! I've been in uni for most of today, then I went to the vintage fair afterwards (I'll show pictures of what I got in my next post). It hasn't been too cold today, and I was pleased I didn't have to wear a proper coat. I'm also wearing one of my new tops that I got at Salvation Army yesterday, I'll do a post of everything I bought there soon, because I got so much and it's fab!
Fred Perry jacket - thrifted - £10.99
Stripey t-shirt - thrifted - £1.50
Jeggings - ebay - approx £3
Jelly sandals - Juju Jellies
Gold chain - church sale

I'm so pleased I bought this Fred Perry jacket, I wasn't sure at the time if I wanted to spend that much money but I've been wearing it so much! I also love my new top and it was such a bargain :)

FUZZY/WOOL T-SHIRT
This top is literally the best AND it was only £1.50! I got it from the salation army shop which is now my favourite. They even gave me a loyalty card. The top is a chunky velvety kind of wool, it's hard to explain. It's so soft to wear and really cosy too.
My Gran gave me the gold chain, she got it ages ago at a church sale.

My jeggings are Topshop, but I got them off eBay last summer for about £3. They're really comfy and tbf to Topshop they are actually good quality for once. I love the colour of them too.
My sandals are Juju Jellies brand. They're the see through glittery ones, without a chunky heel.

Thanks for reading, hope everyone's enjoying the start of Autumn :) x

Thursday, 26 September 2013

Today I dressed a bit wrong for the weather, I was definitely too hot this morning /:

Cardigan - vintage fair
Dress - Oxfam boutique
Knitted leggings - Primark
Jelly sandals - Juju Jellies (website)

I got this dress at the Oxfam boutique in Durham. It's recycled from a man's shirt (the skirt bit is anyway). It's really cute and the gold buttons have little anchors on them. Plus the pocket is the perfect size for a phone.

This is my Joan Smith cardigan.I got it from the Newcastle vintage fair. It's brown dog tooth check.

Knitted leggings are perfect for Autumn, even if it was too hot for them today. Also JELLY SANDALS. That is all.

Freshers Fayre - BEST BITS

Hi!
Yesterday was the freshers fayre at uni, and I got so much free stuff I thought I'd show you some of the best bits. Obvi I had to wade through loads of flyers to get these snazzy prizes, though.
SPACE RAIDERS
Everyone loves free crisps, right! I also got loads of little sweets like lollies and miniature heroes and stuff but I'm ashamed to say I ate most of them as soon as I got home.

GEEK GLASSES
They even have a little bandage to hold them together, I think that's a cute touch.

SMIRNOFF SWEAT BAND
Perfect for when you've got the alcohol sweats. This'll probably come in handy for fancy dress or something at some point.

TANGO IPHONE CASE
This is so cute, it's a silicone one and it's so bright!

SOUTHERN COMFORT NECKLACE
Cute bead necklace with Southern Comfort charms, I'll probably add this to some sort of costume too.

BANANA
A guy in a gorilla suit actually gave this to me! I didn't even see him do it to anyone else, he just came up to me doing his gorilla acting, and wouldn't let me leave without taking a banana. Bonus- it had a minion sticker on it.

SMIRNOFF PAINT TIN
This will come in handy as a pen pot if my landlord ever gets me a desk, or I could use it as my copper tin.

T-SHIRTS
I got 2 free t-shirts! It's handy to have stuff like this just for pyjamas, lazy days, or wearing under jumpers as a layer.

BEST THING EVER
I also got a wristband that let me get a FREE chicken burger and chips from this take-away place in town. The chicken from there is so nice! It's where I get my chicken box from after a night out. Me and Tom got our free food for lunch, but sadly I don't have a picture because we both scoffed it as soon as we got in. Nothing beats FREE food and a bit of criminal minds :)

I also won a free pass to Dirty Pop which is a night out at O2 in Newcastle :)
