Collective outfit post

Hi, I haven't made a blog post in ages because I've been really busy over Christmas with family things, then I had school placement when I started uni again in January. But I want to get back into it so I'm just going to start off with a collection of outfits and accessories that I've worn recently and liked. I might also include a few other bits and pieces so sorry if this comes out a bit jumbled.

This is what I wore on New Year's Eve which seems so long ago now! I had a house party with my flatmates at uni because we didn't want to pay ridiculous amounts in town plus it would have been really packed. It was a really good night and I got my New Year's kiss!

Wearing:
Velvet leotard - River Island
White tights - ebay
Frilly socks - Primark
Creepers - ebay
Star necklace - belongs to my Mum

This vintage denim shirt with embroidered Santas is available to buy from my etsy

Bows Bows Bows
I was really excited because I only recently learnt how to tie a hair bow properly! I love it now and I can finally use this cute vintage scarf with apples on it. It still takes me a few goes to get it right sometimes and it can be really frustrating -.-

Wearing:
Bow - vintage scarf
Pinafore - Primark
Jumper - charity shop
(first picture- left)

Bow - vintage scarf
Pinafore - Primark
Polo shirt - Fred Perry
Doc marten styles shoes - Garage shoes

~ Hair ~
Also I dyed my hair back to brown about a month ago and I absolutely love it! I'm so happy that it doesn't get faded and need maintenance all the time like my red hair did. The colour I am now is very close to my natural colour but slightly darker. I used the £2 hair dyes that come in a red box, I can't remember the brand but you can get them at savers and wilkinsons.
Owl cardigan - New Look
I have also mastered the art of the messy bun! This hairband is supposed to be one of those wooly ear-warmers but since the weather is finally starting to get warmer I thought I could re-use it as a general stretch hairband; complete with pompoms.
Mini messy bun with spring themed accessories
Pinafores Galore
Since finishing my placement I have been trying really hard not to spend money on clothes because I already have so much stuff that I've hardly worn. However, I popped into Primark a few weeks ago and found these amazing corduroy pinafores in the sale for £5 each! I wasn't sure which colour so I thought it was safest to get both!

Doc Marten shoes
I really like the new Doc Marten shoes that everyone's been wearing recently, but they're so expensive. So I was so happy when I found a version of them in Garage shoes for only £30! I've worn them so much already since I got them; it's definitely been worth it.
Satchel by  'Paper Plane'
Frilly socks - Topshop

How I style them:
Cardigan - charity shop / t-shirt - gig / jeggings - River Island
Swallow blouse - Primark / jeggings - ebay / cardigan - Primark

Spring has sprung!
Finally the weather is starting to improve and it's not pitch black all of the time! It puts me in a much better mood when it gets to this time of year and I can start to wear my summer clothes again! Last weekend I went out for a meal with my Mum and her boyfriend and it was so nice that I even cracked out my sandals!
Wearing:
T-shirt - River Island
Trousers - Tophshop
Sandals - Primark
Flower hairclip- H&M

Thanks for reading! I will try to get back into the swing of posting more often, hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather

*Christmas Magic*

Getting in the festive spirit with red, jumpers and figure-skater tights
Jumper - eBay
Skirt- Charity shop
Tights - eBay
Frilly socks - Primark
Creepers - eBay

I got this cute heart print peplum skirt at Oxfam for £2.99. It fits so perfectly! And I love the peplum frill. These white tights are so nice for winter-wonderland style outfits, I feel like a little ice dancer!

I got this tartan jumper from eBay a few years ago, it's one of my favourite jumpers. It was about £3. I only realised the other day that it's fairly christmassy looking!

Christmas Outfit

This was my outfit from a few days ago, I was in a festive mood so I brought some Christmas magic to my clothes...
Dress - eBay
Cardigan - charity shop
Glittery leggings - Primark
Docs - hand me down
Tartan coat - River Island

I hadn't worn this dress since last year and had sort of forgotten I had it. I'm definitely going to wear it more in the run up to Christmas though and it went so well with my glittery leggings!

Halloween costume post #2

Hi! This is my costume that I wore on actual halloween. I went to a friend's birthday party (how cool would it be to be born on halloween?) and then for a night out.
This time I was Agnes from despicable me! I was really excited to do this costume, and again I didn't have to buy anything new for it!
Do you not think I look exactly like her? haha! :)
Scrunchie - had since I was little
Yellow top - pubcrawl top turned inside out (it has writing on it normally)
Dungarees - Rebel Rebel
Converse - Office
Unicorns - borrowed from a friend

It was such a fun night and I kept singing the 'unicorns I love them song'.

The best part was I met Jake and Lemongrab while I was out!

The last picture of me and Jake is so funny, I look so possessive of him! haha :')

Thanks for reading! Please comment what you think of my costumes :) x

Halloween costume post #1

On Monday I went to town with my friends, to a halloween themed night. I don't usually like to do a 'scary' fancy dress so I went as a mermaid. I'm really proud of myself because I already had all the parts of this costume expect the skirt, so I hardly spent any money :)

Bralet - topshop sale - £3
Shell necklace - H&M sale - £2
Scale print shorts - *Alicia Zenobia - etsy shop* - approx £40
Green net - eBay - approx £2
Starfish hairclip - market stall - 30p

I already had a pair of cute orange starfish hair clips, which I got from a market in Turkey. They work out at about 30p each!

This bralet was the closest thing I had to a shell bra, but I also didn't want to wear a top that was really skimpy. I got this shell necklace in the H&M sale, just last month which was really lucky! When I first decided to be a mermaid I hadn't even realised that I had so many accessories that I could wear with my outfit :)

These shorts are amazing! I know they're expensive but I think they're definitely worth it for being so unusual, it was because I'd bought these shorts in the summer that I wanted to dress up as a mermaid. I wanted to make a skirt/tail sort of thing because I felt a bit too exposed if I just wore the shorts on their own. I bought the green net material off ebay and it was really cheap. There were lots of different options to choose from too. I decided to make a skirt that was open at the front rather than a full tutu.
It was really easy to do:
All I need was a long piece of ribbon (or cord, etc.) a needle and thread. I lay out the material and folded the top end over a couple of inches, the ribbon lies under this fold. Then I sewed the fold down. You now have a waistband with a ribbon running through it. To make it fit my waist I ruched the material up along the ribbon until I was satisfied with how it looked. Then I simply tied the skirt around my waist (similar to a sarong).

I hope everyone enjoyed their halloween! I'll be doing another post to show my costume from Thursday night soon! :) x

*Blue outfit with docs*

Hi, sorry I haven't written a post in ages, I've been busy with uni work.
This is my ootd from a few days ago;

Betty Boop top - vintage kilo sale
Cardigan - charity shop
Skirt - H&M
Docs - hand me down

Me and my mum went to a vintage fair last weekend, it was one where the things are priced by weight and it was £15 for a kilo of clothes. I got a few things for myself including this t-shirt, but I also got lots of stock for my *etsy shop*. I would really appreciate it if you could have a look! :)

I got these docs off Tom in the summer, they were his Mum's but they didn't fit her properly so she let me have them :) They're 8 hole ones. I'd really like some 6 hole ones too because I think they look really cute when they're just little ankle ones.

The vintage fair was really fun, but it got a bit manic at some points. They had these big bins full of clothes that everyone was searchign through and people were like throwing clothes in your face and everything. They have a website where you can see what towns they are going to :)  - *Vintage sale website*.
